The Scorch Trials is a 2010 young adult post-apocalyptic dystopian science fiction novel written by American author James Dashner, the second book, fourth chronologically, in The Maze Runner series. The novel was first published in September 2010 by Delacorte Press.

Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.
